After Graduation: Career Opportunities for European Studies graduates
Funded by Jean Monnet Information and Research Activities
A degree in European Studies or similar programs equips students with an in-depth understanding of economic and political dynamics in Europe. The knowledge and skills gained can lead to a wide range of diverse career options, but do not translate into a single job description. Students often lack insights into job options and need guidance to advance in their careers. Similarly, program curricula do not necessarily match employers’ needs and lack an emphasis on learning outcomes.
The Master in European Studies Program at Hochschule Bremen/ University of Applied Sciences will organize a public, international, two-day conference to help identify the roads to a European career. The conference will be co-financed by EU/ Jean Monnet funds.
Our aim is threefold:
1. To offer career guidance to graduates by providing insights into job options (including research) and offer discussions with practitioners.
2. To identify the skills, competences and educational requirements necessary and to discuss the implications for European studies curricula, raise the question of employability, foster a dialogue between all stakeholders and help universities to equip students for the job market so that they can reach their full potential.
3. To promote interest in the field of European Studies by highlighting its job potentials.
