GHTC® - German High Tech Champions

This award was created by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in 2010 as a „Research in Germany“ project. It fostered outstanding technology developers – giving application-oriented German research a new face worldwide. Every awardee was endowed with prize money up to 10.000 Euros to present her/himself and their development highly professionally to the international audience. The nationwide competition focussed on three research fields:

- GREEN: Renewable Energy & Efficiency
- BLUE: Medical Imaging
- ORANGE: Transportation & Logistics

Candidates presented their business cases to an international and interdisciplinary jury of experts judging them on originality, technical, financial and commercial viability, and on their communication skills. The Champions were honored at corresponding international events in Boston, Chicago, New Delhi, Lyon, Tokyo, Paris and Dallas. They got the chance to exchange ideas with international industry executives to identify further R&D requests.
