Mobility Support
The European Commission funds preparatory journeys for European research projects for all scholars – from undergraduate students to experienced researchers. The situation is also made easier by agreements among the member states and their research organisations that “Money Follows Researcher”. This principle means researchers can take approved project funds with them if they move elsewhere within Europe. Furthermore, this also applies to prizes and other project and individual funding.

European Research Council (ERC)
The European Research Council (ERC) is the first European institution that funds basic research proposed by researchers themselves. This bottom-up approach supplements the other funding initiatives of the European Commission. The criteria for selecting the recipients of funding are based solely on research excellence and the innovative potential of the research idea.
